Find the Ads That Brought Customers, Not Just Clicks

Which ads brought customers joins every ad's spend to the leads it brought and the customers those leads became. It ranks ads by real revenue, lists the spend that didn't pay back and compares ROAS by platform. It answers “which ads actually brought customers, and where should the budget go?”

Which of my ads actually brought in paying customers?

It depends on whether you judge ads on clicks or on customers. To join every ad's spend to its leads and the customers they became, Which ads brought customers ranks ads by real revenue and lists spend that didn't pay back. Type /roas to run it. To check what platforms claim against real leads, use Ad platforms vs reality. For search terms that bring nothing, Wasted spend finder fits better. For the whole funnel, pick Full-funnel performance.

What it is: Which ads brought customers is an ad payback report from the free UTM Grabber Reports skill for media buyers and owners that ranks every ad by the customers and revenue it actually brought.

What this report answers

Which ads brought paying customers, and how much revenue?
What's the real cost per lead and ROAS for each ad?
Which ads spent money that didn't pay back?
How much should we move from the weakest ad to the best one?

Built for: Media buyers and owners who judge ads on customers, never on platform conversions.

Why You Can Trust What It Tells You

Leads matched to the right ad

Leads match ads by utm_campaign, then utm_content, ignoring case and punctuation, and a tag 1 or 2 letters off counts for the closest campaign.

Finds spend that didn't pay back

An ad gets flagged after spending at least the larger of $50 or 1% of spend with no customers, or returning under $1 per $1.

Open deals stay in view

Ads whose only customers are still open deals stay in the report, marked as open deals.

Questions about this report

What if I don't have a CRM connected?

It stops at cost per lead and says revenue isn't connected. You still see which ads bring leads cheaply and which spend with nothing to show.

Why don't the numbers match Google Ads or Meta?

Platforms count their own conversions. This report counts real form leads and won customers, matched to each ad by its tags. For the gap itself, ask for Ad platforms vs reality.

Do my ad names need to match anything?

Yes. Ad names must match the utm_content values on your ads, so each lead can be traced to the exact ad. The notes show how many leads matched an ad, only a campaign, or nothing.

Capture the Whole Journey, Starting Today

The free plugin remembers each lead's last click. Every UTM Grabber Premium plan, from Starter up, also records where they first found you, more ad click IDs and what kind of visit it was, from the day you upgrade.

Premium starts recording the day you upgrade. It can't fill in visits the free plugin never recorded, so every week on free is a week of first touches and click IDs you won't get back.
